Mortgage Interview Checklist: Make sure you have what you need

Property Information:

___1. Copy of original Offer to Purchase Agreement or Escrow Papers; if construction loan, copy plans and specifications.
___2. Legal Description from survey, deed or title work.
   

Borrower Information:

___1. Copy of Divorce or Separation documents.
___2. Copy of Bankruptcy proceedings with status and explanation.
___3. Gift letter or explanation of source of funds for closing costs.
___4. If VA loan, Original Certificate of Eligibility and DD214.
___5. Photo ID.
   

Income Information:

___1. Most recent pay stubs showing year to date earnings and pay period.
___2. Last two year's Federal Tax Returns and W-2 forms.
___3. If Self Employed, Year to date Profit and Loss Statement prepared by your accountant and/or Corporate/Partnership Tax Returns.
___4. Partnership Agreements
___5. Explanations of any other income.
   

Other Information:

___1. Name and address of your banks and/or Savings Institution including account numbers.
___2. Creditors' names, account numbers, present balances and monthly payments for all credit cards and installment debts.
___3. Name and address of current landlord.
___4. Closing Statement from sale of current property.
___5. Copies of last two months' bank statements.
___6. If FHA/VA loan, copy of Social Security Card and Driver's License.
___7. Check for application fee.
___8. For refinance - copies of deed, survey, property taxes and home owners bill, and a copy of your homeowners insurance policy.
